Got the edge and I’ve got the advantage, If you could see things from my vantage

I took Ada to the doctor for her 9 month well visit this morning. She weighed in at 17 lbs 12 ozs which is a little less than last time. Her appetite dropped a lot when she was sick, but the doctor suggested we get some blood work done just as a precautionary measure. So, we had to trek over to the hospital and the nurses attempted to take blood from Ada’s arms. They had a lot of trouble and it was painful for me to even watch them stab her more than a few times in each arm trying to draw the blood, but could never get the vein. They gave up on the arms and ended up having to get 4 small vials from her big toe. The doctor also recommended we schedule some tests with the Douglas County ICC to check for any developmental problems. Again, its mostly a precautionary measure to catch any problems ahead of time.

While the needle troubled her a bit, Ada was mostly pleasant through the whole ordeal and was ready for a nap by the time she got to daycare. She is such a good girl.

You gotta keep movin’ and you can’t say nothin’ I’m a keep bouncin’ and bumpin’ and stuffin’

So, Happy Valentines day to all my friends and family. I hope its a good one. While I would like to have planned another romantic getaway to Chateau Avalon with my sweetheart like last year, we couldn’t leave Ada with anyone overnight, so we’ll have to settle for something less exotic. Melissa was nice and left me a little valentines card by my laptop bag this morning. I sent her some of the virtual gifts on LJ. We’ll probably exchange a few other niceties tonight and she offered to make me anything I wanted for dinner.

Here is a picture of Ada that Melissa took this morning. Ada is playing with the Valentines day card that her Aunt Barb sent her.
