Ada Rides An Elephant, Ada Rides A Llama
We went to the Kansas City Renaissance Festival on Sunday where Ada had the chance to go on a few of the animal rides. She enjoyed both rides immensely, a little bit too much as she kept wanting to go again.

Slacker Uprising: The Movie
I’ve been a fan of Michael Moore ever since I watched Roger And Me when it was screened for my Introduction To Theatre And Film class at KU. While I think Moore’s focus on his political agenda in his recent films has caused the overall quality to suffer, I still think they make for some good entertainment. His most recent release, Slacker Uprising, is being made available free for download or streaming online.
It was just released today and I’ve been trying to download it to watch later, although it looks like everyone else is probably doing the same as the download is pretty slow.
Electronics Recycling
Passing on this news that I got from my friend Brett over at Telos Studios.
Lawrence is having a Electronic Recycling Event at Freestate High School. http://lawrencerecycles.org/electronic_collection_2008.shtml If you’ve been waiting to throw out some old electronic junk, now would be a good time, most notably they will only be charging $5 to recycle old crt monitors when I know most places in Lawrence charge at least $10.
15 Years Ago Today…
…I was starting college. But a few months before that was my graduation from Pleasanton High School. I received an invitation to my 15 year reunion yesterday. We had a 5 year reunion that wasn’t very big, only about 7 out of our class of 24 showed. I don’t think there was a 10 year reunion, or if there was I wasn’t invited – I was living in Colorado at the time and that was before social networking (myspace, facebook, etc) was big and that seems to be where I’ve run into most of my former classmates. It looks like only 3 classmates in the list of 24 have unknown addresses now, so maybe we’ll get a better turnout than before.
This mug seems to be one of the few peices of memorabilia that I still have, most of the pictures and other stuff I had was lost when my basement flooded during college. “Dr. Who” was one of my nicknames in high school (yes, I was a big geek, even then), I had that name on the license plate of my first car too.
It should be interesting to see how some of my old friends have grown up and changed.
